On Track Physical Therapy and Functional Training

OnTrack Stories: Meghan Lout

I was introduced to OnTrack coaching and physical therapy after having two years of chronic hip pain and life-long foot problems that at least six podiatrists were unable to resolve. I doubted myself, my running capabilities, and whether I would ever enjoy a pain-free life more and more with each failed attempt to resolve the pain.

At the peak of my hip pain in 2012, a 24 year-old friend of mine was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. My friend’s situation made me re-evaluate how I wanted to live my own life. I decided that my life is too short to let it pass me by, and one of my biggest goals related to running. That is when I was introduced to OnTrack coaching and physical therapy, which is the defining point in my life.

OnTrack helps me to understand why I develop injuries, while addressing the problem through physical therapy. OnTrack also teaches me how to proactively manage pain and resolve the sources of my pain.

Improved overall health and running form has helped me train more rigorously and get faster, and working with my coach has become one of the best parts of my day. It is a continued effort that requires persistence from everyone involved, but coaching and physical therapy are teaching me about how I need to train in order to accomplish my personal running goals.

My running goal is the hardest thing I have ever committed to, both physically and emotionally, but I am dedicated because I believe in every aspect of OnTrack. OnTrack’s investment in helping me and others who have specific goals is the biggest motivational factor I have ever had. The relationships I’ve developed through my experiences with coaching, physical therapy, and nutrition have also become among the most wonderful aspects of my life.
